A private Tuscan home among olive groves and cypress trees, with Florence just twenty minutes away.
Hidden in the Tuscan countryside, Casa Nuova is a private five bedroom home surrounded by olive groves, cypress trees and open views, yet only twenty minutes from Florence.
It is the sort of place that makes staying home very tempting. Mornings around the infinity pool, long lunches beneath the shade, afternoons disappearing into the garden and dinner stretching late into the evening.
And when you do decide to leave, Florence is close enough for lunch, galleries or an evening in the city before returning to the quiet of the countryside.
THE LIVING SPACES
Casa Nuova feels unmistakably Tuscan, but with plenty of personality of its own.
Exposed beams, arched openings and richly layered interiors connect a series of sitting rooms, each with a slightly different character. One has a fireplace, while the main living and dining spaces flow naturally together, creating plenty of room for a full house without everyone having to be in the same room.
At its heart is a wonderfully generous kitchen with a marble topped island, large range cooker and glazed steel doors opening towards the dining room. This is very much a house made for cooking, eating and gathering around the table.
THE OUTDOOR SPACE
Outside, Casa Nuova opens onto gardens of cypress, lavender and clipped box, surrounded by the unmistakable landscape of the Tuscan hills.
The infinity pool overlooks the countryside and has its own changing room, shower and bathroom, making it somewhere you can happily disappear for most of the day. Shaded terraces around the house provide spaces for outdoor dining, long lunches and evening drinks, with several areas for lounging throughout the gardens.
The property has its own private entrance, giving the whole estate a wonderful sense of privacy.
THE BEDROOMS
The house has five individually designed bedrooms, each with a king size bed, air conditioning and its own ensuite bathroom.
No two rooms are quite the same. Colour, textiles, artwork and traditional details give each its own personality, while views over the gardens keep the countryside ever present.
Alongside the five ensuite bathrooms are two additional guest bathrooms serving the rest of the house, bringing the total to seven.
THE EXPERIENCE
One of Casa Nuova's greatest luxuries is its proximity to Florence.
Spend the morning among the galleries and palazzi of the city, stay for lunch and be back beside the pool by the afternoon. Or forget Florence altogether for the day and settle into the slower rhythm of the Tuscan countryside.
It gives you something quite unusual: a proper country escape without having to choose between Tuscany and Florence.
