A privately guided five-night journey through Swedish Lapland, shaped around your group and the conditions. Days may include dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, husky hikes and northern lights outings when nature allows.

Winter 2026/27 opens with two 57 sq m suites, each with a double or twin master bedroom, separate children’s room, living area and wood-burning stove.
Opening-season capacity is four adults and up to six children. Two private wilderness chalets will be added the following winter.

Peak periods are 19 December 2026 to 2 January 2027 and 6 February to 6 March 2027.
A 30% supplement applies for single-adult occupancy. This increases to 50% during the holiday season.

Lakita Lodge is located in Swedish Lapland, 130 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle.
Fly via Stockholm Arlanda to Hemavan Tärnaby or Vilhelmina Airport. An included private transfer takes approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
The Wilds of the North
Set 130 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle, Lakita Lodge sits within more than 600 hectares of private forest, lakes and open wilderness.
There are no group tours or fixed daily circuits. Each five-night stay is privately guided and shaped around the people travelling, the conditions outside and the natural rhythm of the North.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Built from full logs, with grass roofs and wide windows, the lodge has been designed to sit quietly within the landscape.
For its opening winter, the main lodge has just two 57 sq m suites. Each includes a master bedroom, separate children’s room, private living area and wood-burning stove.
Downstairs, the fireplace, dining tables and bar form the centre of the house. The husky yard sits nearby, so the dogs remain part of the view and the rhythm of each day.
From the following winter, two private chalets will be added within walking distance of the main lodge. Each will have its own sauna, terrace and outdoor fireplace.
Meet Your Hosts
Lakita Lodge is a personal project for Julie and Raphaël Coutelier, who left their careers in Geneva to build a life with their family in Swedish Lapland.
Julie grew up among sled dogs and began racing as a child. Her mother, Isabelle Travadon, is a dog-sledding world champion and finisher of the Iditarod, Yukon Quest and Finnmarksløpet 1000. That heritage has passed from mother to daughter and now sits at the heart of the lodge.
Raphaël brings his own instinct for the outdoors, from snowmobiles and aviation to a deep familiarity with the surrounding landscape. Together, they personally host each stay and guide many of its defining moments.

The Landscape
Each day is privately guided and adapted to the weather, snow conditions and confidence of the group. The five-night format allows guests to begin slowly, meet the dogs and gradually travel farther into the landscape.

Dog Sledding
Meet the huskies, help prepare the team and travel through forests, across frozen lakes and over open snow. Guests may drive their own sled or ride with a guide, while younger children travel safely in the guide’s sled.

Snowmobile Expeditions
Snowmobiles make it possible to reach the wider landscapes beyond the lodge. Routes follow frozen lakes and forest trails, with the pace and distance tailored to the group.

Northern Lights
The aurora keeps its own schedule. When conditions align, the Lakita team will take guests outside by snow vehicle, snowmobile or on foot to find the best available view.

Ice Fishing
Drill through the surface of a frozen lake, gather around the fire and wait for perch or pike in the quiet of the North. If something is caught, it may find its way onto the evening table.

Snow Shoeing & Husky Hikes
Snowshoes open up the deeper forest, where tracks in the snow reveal the animals that have passed through. Guests may also walk with one of the huskies, following the trails together by harness and line.

Wellness
After a day outdoors, the indoor swimming spa looks out across the surrounding landscape, while the wood-fired outdoor sauna offers a quieter ritual of heat, silence and cold Lapland air. Personalised massage treatments can also be arranged upon request.

At the Table
Meals are a central part of the stay, whether served in the lodge dining room or cooked over an open fire outside. The full-board menu has been designed by a Michelin-starred chef and draws on Nordic cooking, with local and regional ingredients used wherever possible. Evenings unfold around the table, with nowhere else guests need to be.

For Younger Guests
Children can meet and help care for the dogs, go sledding, follow animal tracks and spend their days playing in the snow. Depending on their age and the conditions, child-friendly dog sledding and small snowmobile experiences may also be arranged.
Where You’ll Stay
For winter 2026/27, guests will stay in one of two spacious suites on the first floor of the main lodge. Each has a master bedroom arranged as a double or twin, a separate children’s room sleeping two to three, a private living area and wood-burning stove.
Downstairs, shared spaces gather around the fireplace, dining tables and bar, with an indoor swimming spa and wood-fired sauna for the end of the day.
Getting There
Lakita Lodge lies in the municipality of Storuman, 130 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle.
Guests fly via Stockholm Arlanda to either Hemavan Tärnaby or Vilhelmina, followed by a private transfer of approximately one hour and twenty minutes. Return airport transfers are included, and the best route will be arranged around current flight schedules.
